June 13 – September 22, 2024
Auditorium Bortolotti – Narni (TR)
As part of the Narni città teatro festival, the Olivetti Historical Archive Association presents the exhibition “Olivetti, History of a Cultural Project,” showcasing the value of culture as a strategic tool for business and as a factor of cultural growth in society. The exhibition explores various aspects and areas of influence, from the factory to the local territory.
The exhibition outlines the complexity and richness of many decades of Olivetti’s cultural enterprise: the Olivetti Library and Cultural Center, popular courses, major exhibitions, and restorations. It is within this broad cultural context that all corporate activities find their organizational and project significance: whether it be for the innovation of a new product, the aesthetics of its design, non-intrusive and evocative advertising, the creation of human-scale industrial and residential architectures, or communicating the idea of respect and dignity owed to women.
In this context, there is also a reference to pioneering social services initiatives for Olivetti’s workers and, more generally, for all people living in the areas where Olivetti factories operated worldwide.
Opening Ceremony: Thursday, June 13 at 6:00 PM
During the inauguration, actor Marco Bandiera will present The Corner of Giorgio Soavi, a reading from the text “Adriano Olivetti: An Italian Surprise” in which author Giorgio Soavi recounts what Olivetti meant to him and his relationship with Adriano.
The performance will take place at the Terrazza di Largo Ivo Germani in Narni.
