The Museum of Computing Machinery of the University of Pisa, in collaboration with Edizioni di Comunità, the Adriano Olivetti Foundation, the Olivetti Historical Archive Association, and Libreria Pellegrini, presents the book Informatica Olivetti 1970-1998 by Gianfranco Casaglia. The work provides a detailed overview of the computer production of the Ivrea-based company after the renowned ELEA series computers and the Programma 101. The volume is the result of extensive research by Gianfranco Casaglia, who consulted many of the documents preserved by the Olivetti Historical Archive Association.
The publication offers an opportunity to highlight a lesser-known but equally important part of the company’s history, helping to understand the evolution of one of the most fascinating enterprises in Italian industrial history. The discussion will be introduced by Fabio Gadducci, Director of the Museum of Computing Machinery of the University of Pisa, and moderated by Elisabetta Mori, computer historian, with the participation of the author and with an intervention by the President of the Olivetti Historical Archive Association, Gaetano Adolfo Maria di Tondo.
