Trentanove vedute di Venezia (Thirty-nine Views of Venice)

Cod.: ART0217

DESCRIPTION

The catalog was produced on the occasion of the exhibition organized by Olivetti at the Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice dedicated to Federica Galli. The artist, originally from Lombardy, with her unmistakable style, has left a mark on the history of Italian engraving in the 20th century.
In 1984, following the suggestion of Renzo Zorzi, Federica Galli undertakes a monumental series of etchings dedicated to Venice, consisting of thirty-nine plates, two of which are of enormous size. The final result is so successful that the Giorgio Cini Foundation invites her to exhibit the entire series; for the occasion, the Venetian institution modifies its statute, which until then had limited the exhibition to ancient works and was closed to contemporary art.
The catalog presents reproductions of the thirty-nine works exhibited in the show, accompanied by personal data, biography, critical anthology, bibliography, and details about the artist’s solo exhibitions, along with a final note by Renzo Zorzi on Venice in the vedutist etching.
