DESCRIPTION
The history of the Olivetti Ivrea Management Board fills a gap in studies on employment relations in Italy, in particular on the age-old issue of workers’ control and collaboration in the management of companies. The only one to survive among the councils created and cancelled in Italy in the short period after 25 April 1945, the Olivetti Board of Directors had a long history, lasting until 1971, which could teach much to those who today are called or legislate in terms of participation.
